Who we are:
Calico is a research and development company whose mission is to harness advanced technologies to increase our understanding of the biology that controls lifespan. We will use that knowledge to devise interventions that enable people to lead longer and healthier lives. Executing on this mission will require an unprecedented level of interdisciplinary effort and a long-term focus for which funding is already in place.
Calico is inviting applications from biologists who are excited to work within a scientific team focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying phenotypic heterogeneity within cancer cell populations and the role of the stress response in drug resistance.
A Masters or Ph.D. degree in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry is required as well as a track record of strong research productivity in cancer research, including impactful scientific publications. Requisite skills include significant prior experience with mammalian cell culture, basic protein biochemistry, and molecular biology. Experience with CRISPR genome editing methodology is desirable. You need to be an enthusiastic team player, thrive on attention to detail and have excellent verbal/written communication skills.
